Klondike
is a fun filled day (non-competitive) in which all of Cub Scouts (Tigers,
Wolves, Bears and Webelos) can come to Camp Mountain Run and enjoy
the wonders of the winter world. There are number of events ranging
from sled races and snow ball throwing contests to a tug of war contest
and two-man snow shoe races. Most events are being held outdoors so
all participants should prepare for a day in cold and snow of Western
Pennsylvania.
The dining hall is open for packs and dens to come in out of the
weather and to enjoy their lunches they bring in front of the roaring
fireplaces. The trading post in Walker Center has hot dogs and other
items available to.
Packs are encouraged
to divide their scouts in to mixed dens (Tigers, Wolves, Bears and
Webelos in each den) of between 6 to 8 scouts. This allows the dens
to move throughout the course more easily and be able to handle
each event efficiently. Each den also must bring a plastic sled
to carry their supplies for the day as well as use in some of the
events.
